things we discuss while driving around the world...

we were talking about my answer to this question:
2. If you could turn a book into a movie, what would it be and who would you cast in the roles?
American Gods i'd have to think about who would be in it tho. might definately have mickey rourke as shadow **droooooooool**

so...the concensus was that mickey rourke (pause for drool factor) would be an *excellent* shadow. the discussion we were having where we didn't agree was...who would play mr wednesday. i suggested rutger hauer. the other suggestion was to have christopher walken play lowkey lyesmith. (again...pause for much drool factor) i think he would be a great person for that part. now we just need to figure out who should play mr wednesday.

i think i'm going to think about this a little more and come up with an entire cast. maybe someone will see this one day and make my dream come true.

J9's dream cast: mickey rourke, rutger hauer, christopher walken, bruce willis, christopher meloni, mariska hargitay, and richard belzer all in the same cast.

*taps J9 on da shoulder gently*
ya know ya could post this on Neil's LJ? Neil (aka Mr. Gaiman) is just cool enough to take suggestions and give his own feedback. :D

i'm 99% certain it's under Neil Gaiman. do a search from the main page. also he tends to respond to e-mails from his official fansite when interested in the comments.

oh umm is the meeting at noon?

officialgaiman

that's the name of the journal

I don't think he responds to his LJ which I believe is a feed. But if you go to his actual blog, I think he may read those. Should be able to find it at www.neilgaiman.com.

But if you don't have his LJ added to your friends or read it anyhow, you should. It's a great blog usually. Very entertaining.

Kathleen :)

Karl and I were talking about this yesterday, actually...

Rourke would make a decent Shadow, if the character weren't biracial in the book. Mickey is many things, and pale is one of them.

Now, you may laugh, but I think if we could get the boy some acting lessons, Duane Johnson could totally pull it off. He does the slightly tired, slightly sad expression very well.

As for Mr. Wedensday, I think Dolph Lundgren could do it. We might have to get him to grow a beard though...

[identity profile] lokiz-mom.livejournal.com 2007-06-25 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
dolph lundgren?!?!?! he's too big. i think of shadow as being smaller...but with strength...

[identity profile] redstreets.livejournal.com 2007-06-26 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
No, Duane Johnson as Shadow. Dolph Lundgren as Wedensday.

I mean, Wedensday is a NORSE GOD. These are not at all small people we're talking about. Lowkey would have to be the absolute smallest memeber of that family.

duane johnson as in "the Rock"? or is this some other guy?

[identity profile] redstreets.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
That would be him, yeah.
