we were talking about my answer to this question:
2. If you could turn a book into a movie, what would it be and who would you cast in the roles?
American Gods i'd have to think about who would be in it tho. might definately have mickey rourke as shadow **droooooooool**
so...the concensus was that mickey rourke (pause for drool factor) would be an *excellent* shadow. the discussion we were having where we didn't agree was...who would play mr wednesday. i suggested rutger hauer. the other suggestion was to have christopher walken play lowkey lyesmith. (again...pause for much drool factor) i think he would be a great person for that part. now we just need to figure out who should play mr wednesday.
i think i'm going to think about this a little more and come up with an entire cast. maybe someone will see this one day and make my dream come true.
J9's dream cast: mickey rourke, rutger hauer, christopher walken, bruce willis, christopher meloni, mariska hargitay, and richard belzer all in the same cast.

Date: 2007-06-24 07:08 pm (UTC)Rourke would make a decent Shadow, if the character weren't biracial in the book. Mickey is many things, and pale is one of them.
Now, you may laugh, but I think if we could get the boy some acting lessons, Duane Johnson could totally pull it off. He does the slightly tired, slightly sad expression very well.
As for Mr. Wedensday, I think Dolph Lundgren could do it. We might have to get him to grow a beard though...

Date: 2007-06-26 01:34 am (UTC)I mean, Wedensday is a NORSE GOD. These are not at all small people we're talking about. Lowkey would have to be the absolute smallest memeber of that family.
