so today was filled with interesting stuff...
it begins like this...
today's horrorscope:
Scorpio
Horoscope (by astrocenter.com)
A get-together with a group of friends could result in some fascinating conversations, dear Scorpio. In the course of this, you could hear some juicy gossip, interesting news and useful information. Make sure you write down what interests you the most. While your memory tends to be good, you'll hear so much today it won't be feasible to trust your memory. The important thing, however, is that this should be a relaxing day, with few stresses and good companionship. Enjoy!

quite interesting in fact. but not much was said in the way of gossip unless it was uttered by the millions of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people that were at the parade today. we got there early (bess, somebody and i) and found a relatively good spot just the other side of the bus stop. i put my crutches up across a certain area so we would have room to move 'cos i could just see us wanting to share the chair that i brought...i knew it was going to happen...that's why i brought it. there were times when i needed to get up and stretch, and i know that if i didn't have the cast i would have been on my feet more than i really was. so lots of pictures were taken and much happiness was had. i even was chastized by a couple from Montana who apparently didn't realize they were in the Mary Jane capital of the world (well ok maybe not the world,....but you know what i mean). they asked us if we smoked, and Bess basically told them that out of all our friends that smoke we 3 were the only ones who didn't.
::snicker::
so anyway...we tried to 'splain to them that all they had to do was sniff it out, ask politely if they could have some, and as long as they didn't blow the smoke in the face of a cop they were good as gold...i dont think they believed us. oh well. anyway...

one comment i have 'bout the parade is that there were too many times that there was space between stuff, and it was near 3:00 p.m. before the parade was over ::sigh:: so after much heat, sun and sunburn, we made our way back to bart. i remembered that there was a booth at the parade last year, and they had red ribbon dog tags. i also remember that they had rainbow dog tags and i couldn't afford them last year. i was hoping that they were there again this year. so i tromped off into the crowd of people not caring really if i put my crutch on someone's foot...and somebody and bess were right behind me. i can move pretty quick through a crowd even on crutches...so somebody had said that bess was falling behind, but my mind was set on getting to where i needed to be and then getting back out, so i couldn't think to say "i'll just meet you at the bart elevator". just then somebody said we'll just meet you at the elevator and i said OK. so i trudged through the crowd and didn't see the tags ::sigh:: so i went across the crowd...a feat in itself even without the crutches, but made worse with them. i got to the other side (ok here comes the joke...why did the J9 cross the crowd...) and still didn't see the tags, but i knew there were more booths up the walkway, but it was TOOOOOOOOOO Crowded...so no tags for the J9. ::sigh:: and i was getting tired, so i made my way back out. just then i was like saying excuse me all the way through, and someone yelled into the crowd "please move out of the way for the woman on crutches" and there was a great parting of the masses hmmmm just like Moses!!!! KOOL!!!!

so i caught up with Bess and Somebody and made it to the train in time to get to mom's house for dinner for the 46th wedding anniversary for mom and dad.

WHEW!!!!!

it's been a long day...they need to make pride month another time...i can't handle it on the same day as my parent's anniversary.

well i'm off to watch TV for a bit and then off to bed. no work tomorrow so it's all good for tonight. i have to be awake until i know my sister is back from going to Oakley 'cos she's driving up there with Mr. Sassoon and he's not one for staying awake.

i hope everyone else had as much fun as i did. thanks again to Bess and Somebody for going with me and to the couple from montana for hanging out with us..and to Rosarita and Erlinda (i think) for dealing with the IDIOT that wouldn't go away!!!

YAY ME!!!!
