SERIOUSLY i need your help...

OK so i've been thinking lately...the reason i chew my nails so much is 'cos i like to have something in my mouth to play with. GET YOUR MINDS OUT OF THE GUTTERS!!!! oh what the hell am i saying. anyway...i need to stop biting my nails, and i have been thinking for a while about getting a tongue piercing. not something big, just something small that i can play with. i am afraid that if i do get it it's going to hurt really really really bad. i had no problems getting 2 tattoos, but those were on my back and they didn't really hurt at all. i also have to answer phones at work, and i'm already having problems saying (in a clear voice) Orchard Supply Hardware Millbrae this is Janine how can i help you...i'm afraid that if i get the piercing that it'll be even more difficult to say it.
ON THE OTHER HAND. i'm not looking for "koolness" i'm looking for something to help me to stop biting my nails. i would really like to get them to grow longer, and i'm having serious issues getting this accomplished.
so i pose this question to you dear reader. Should the J9 get her tongue pierced or just get another tattoo?
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
