now let's start this off with y'all know how much i LOVE LOVE LOVE janis joplin. i named one of my cars janis lyn after her. i played her as the crim when vampirejew had his rocky birthday gig oh so many years ago.

and let's just also say...i dont like my voice. i hate the way i sound on the phone...in person...not to mention on a microphone. so you wouldn't ever think that i would sing karaoke. i mean...i've done it before, yes, but that was to make sylvan happy, and there weren't all kinda people there that i knew.

that being said...i sang Me & Bobby McGee tonight. **stunned silence** yeah...i know...and actually i really got into it. i LOVE LOVE LOVE janis and i LOVE LOVE LOVE that particular song. 'cos i know i can sing it well enough. well tonight everyone was loving it. i dont know if they were just egging me on or what, but i thought it went well. there were a few parts where i wasn't so good, but DUDE how long has it been since i sang that song?!?!?! i'm really glad i did it. and funny thing...just before i started singing, i said to everyone... "now y'all realize you can't watch me sing...right?" and everyone turned their backs on me. that made me smile. midway through the beginning, they started looking back...i was already singing with eyes closed imagining janis sitting in the audience listening to my singing and she was loving it. that made me smile also. perhaps i'll go back again. who knows.

it was a good night...albeit short...it was still good.
