it's faire season! (open post)

so saturday is the first weekend of workshops for nor cal ren faire. i'll be driving down at the ass crack of dawn...WHY!!!!! and maybe i'll even stay the night? not sure yet.

packing list: (edited to add)

tent
suitcase of bedding (2 blankets, sheet, pillow, mattress w/pump)
shower bag (towels, shoes, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash)
bag of clothes:
3 pairs black pants
grey dress
knickers
sox
boots
black shirts
a couple of tank tops 'cos it is gilroy after all
PJ's in case i stay the night
2 pairs of sweats in case it's cold


i'm sure there's something i'm missing but i'm sure it'll come to me by the end of the week. i'll need to pack up on friday so i have everything together on saturday and i can just bail. friday night is the gathering at the hodo also...gotta be sure to be there for that.

well...it's late and i'm old. i'm off to bed. g'nite y'all

see this is why i have friends...so they can remind me that i need to cover the top and not just the bottom ^_^

Crap - I still need to pick up a mattress pump. (My mattress has one built-in, but there's only so much foot-pumping you can do, and unfortunately, a queen-sized air mattress needs at least twice that much.)

OMG i went to KMart and got a mattress that has a built in POWER pump. it's by swiss gear. the batteries have a compartment INSIDE the mattress and you attach the pump to the space next to it and go to town. it does the work in 1/16th the time of a foot pump AND...if it's not full enough you can then do the hand pump bit on the mattress. and it only cost me $25 for a full!

Sweet. Now I just have to hope they have 'em in stock when I finally get paid next week (I'm down to $1.45 in the bank until my last $100 transfers over from The Account That Doesn't Exist, and I need to put gas in the car once that comes in - but you know how that goes, dontcha?).

umm can you say SHIRTS! cuz its not on the clothing list. possibly bras too. cuz as much as just wearing knickers and pants could be fun, it will more than likely get cold. on that note, maybe a jacket too?

as for bras...they're for sissies. when i'm at faire i'm free as a barn swallow! besides...i dont have engough to worry about to be wearing one.
