OK one more story...
Sep. 18th, 2001 07:04 pmi was watching dateline NBC yesterday. i know...i shouldn't have been watching. anyway...here's the story.
apparently there was a 4 year old little girl on the flight that hit one of the towers with her mother and they were on their way to disneyland. it was to be her first trip to d-land. her Godmother was on the other plane. the little girl's name was Juliana McCourt. if anyone has heard of or seen "Angela's Ashes" knows of the McCourt name. i haven't gotten confirmation that she is of that family, but you never know. anyway...the thought was this...
since i'll be going down to disneyland for my birthday and the few days before and after it, wouldn't it be great for all of us to chip in and buy her a brick on the disneyland walk??? what you will be buying is an octagonal brick with her name on it, and (if i can get in touch with her family) her birthday and the date of the crash (or maybe not). i'm not sure how much it will cost, but i'm sure it's not more than 200 bux which with our little group of friends i'm sure we can come up with even if everyone just chips in 10 bux each. i'm thinking of extending it to whoever wants to chip in. this idea was given to me by Red on the phone last night. i have the Fairy in the Factory doing some reasearch on it so i can get the exact price. once i get that information i will post it here. anyone that is interested in contributing can send an e-mail to Lokiz_mom@yahoo.com. i am going to try to get her family's contact information so i can then send a letter of intent to them and ask for their blessing and maybe for them to come with me when the brick is put in. all of this is still in the works since i just saw the broadcast last night. here is the msnbc site if you want to see the information http://www.msnbc.com/news/630075.asp
